Jazz at The Green Room is an occasional series of very intimate, mostly unplugged, performances by players and singers from Boston and beyond, representing a range of styles under the broad jazz umbrella.   (See photos from past performances here.)   JATGR is curated and produced by Mark Redmond, e.g. the guy who's writing this.  I'm a longtime jazz lover and enthusiastic believer in the unique power of live music.  I am also an amateur live music photographer, and this series grew in part out of connections made through pursuit of that hobby.  I work as a therapist by day.

JATGR is based at The Green Room, 62 Bow Street in Union Square, Somerville, MA.   The Green Room is a beautiful music studio/arts and community space.   It's great to be working with The Green Room's owners, Anney & Michael Barrett, to present this series.   Info about other things they're up to is here.

For concerts, The Green Room seats just about 25, depending on the configuration of musicians.   There's no food & no bar, just a space for listening together to music performed up close & personal.

"The Green Room is like a nano-concert hall - intimate, great vibe, great sound, good piano. Rusty Scott and I loved playing there, and the warm & wonderful audience was almost literally in our laps, in a most delicious way." - past JATGR performer Russ Gershon of Either/Orchestra & Accurate Records
